Painting: the tangible wrestle with wet and dry, layering ideas over each other. After long days in front of computers and phones, translating from the digital to the stark naked white page is an experience we brought to our studio for many never-before painters at our Painting Party last Saturday.

Working to the beat of a timer, we lined up paper on 3 walls and just allowed ourselves to create. The painters who hadn’t painted for years mingled with those who had never done it before, all working in a creative melting pot to the tune of The Fine Young Cannibals.
I was surprised that the tyranny of the page didn’t seem to hold most of our party guests back from pushing and pulling their abstract scenes.
