Created as a commentary on the Abortion Industry in the United States, this piece is a play on Shepard Fairey’s famous print, “HOPE,” which had enormous effect in the 2008 election to sway many voters to vote for President Obama.

I think the idea that Science describes the past, but Art predicts the future is very important in considering the thin line between art as prediction and art as promotion.

Regardless of one’s political leanings, it is not the face of the presidential candidate that we really cast our vote for, but rather their policies, promises, and track record. For this reason, the image of an aborted child is more accurate a depiction of the future that Obama promises to voters rather than the very general idea of “HOPE” which many would argue is intentionally vague and completely unrealized.kill fetus margot rogers 2012
